Copper has been used in a variety of exterior applications for centuries. This unfinished material won’t rust and is easy to tool. Left unfinished, copper ages with a natural patina. This is a premium material with a high cost, but it comes with time tested durability and a one of a kind look.
Aluminum and Stainless steel substrates are also available. These materials have a high resistance to corrosion and are often used in coastal areas where rust is a greater concern. Both of these substrates have a higher cost than traditional steel roofing.
